| School has begun. And with school comes seeing people. Some people are harder to see then others. (And I don't mean because they're invisible or really good at camoflage)
I got a job at the Bethel College Library. Kind of my favorite. Who knew (besides Angela Kerner) that being a librarian is pretty much the best job ever. I basically get paid to check facebook and do my homework. Sweet.
Everyone should come visit me this year. If not to see me, then to gander at my incredibly hot mod. Seriously, it should be illegal how incredibly attractive all eight of us are. You're garunteed to cream your pants on arrival. Garunteed.
Maybe I'll shelve some more books...or maybe I'll continue to read the hilarious novel "Winkie" by Clifford Chase that each and every one of you should read.

| Today is the 4th of July. Yep. I think it will rain here tonight and it makes me kinda sad. Although I am not what you would call...patriotic, I love me a good fireworks show. Loud noises and bright lights are about all it takes to entertain me.
I think I just wasted about half my life on facebook. I swear that site will be the death of me, but so many people have so many fun and entertaining pictures. Each time I spend hours looking at the pictures I feel like I've become a little dumber. Maybe it's from reading captions like "this is us crunk" "the girls gettin' crazy" and my personal favorite "NOBODY's drunk in this picture" (to be read sarcastically). O facebook. How could I go on without you.
So it's July now which means one more month and I'm back home again. It's so bittersweet. Denver's great but home is where the heart is. (Vomit)
p.s. If anyone can tell me where the title of this post comes from I'll give you the most gargantuan hug ever when I get home. | | |
| For the past two weeks I have been working for an agency called 'The
Bridge Project'. Their goal is to decrease the drop out rate for
children who live in the housing projects in Denver by providing
tutoring and mentors for them. The summer program consists of
computer and literacy classes so the kids don't fall behind during the
months when they aren't in school. It is truly amazing. I
can't believe that they have actually been able to convince 3rd and 4th
graders that it'd be cool to do school work during the summer.
Unbelievable.
Needless to say my experience in Denver so far has been
phenomanel. Although I am very homesick for my friends and
family, I love what I'm doing here and have fallen in love with this
city.
The down side is the long hours. Every Monday through Thursday
the rest of the staff and I put in about fifteen hour days. We
get half of Friday, all of Saturday, and half of Sunday off and then
the next group comes. I spend most of my time being completely
exhausted, looking forward to the next time I get to put my head on my
pillow.
In five weeks I come home, in five weeks I see Spencer again. :)

| I am officially moved into my home for the summer. I wish I had a lot of exciting experiences to share with you on here about my trip so far but I don't. Mainly I sit around journaling and reading trying to make awkward conversation with my housemates. I'm hoping that when we start getting busier the four of us have more to talk about. Right now it's pretty painful.
I'll post more later. | | |
